I was just about ready to call it a night and get back to the Teddy Roosevelt biography I’m reading when I visited a B2B marketing firm’s(!) website that had this navigation copy (screen shot):
Home/What We Do/Why We Are Different/How We Help Grow Your Business/Who We Are/Read Our Blog/Contact Us
NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! This kind of copy makes the blood rush to my head, especially when the text is from a company that should know better.
If your website navigation copy reads like that, change it
“Larry, what’s wrong with that navigation copy?”
Read this post: “Can You Guess the 2 Most Powerful Words in Advertising?”
Did you read it? Awesome. Now you know what’s wrong with the copy above.
Please remember that the rules of great copywriting extend to every word on your website, not just the copy on your landing pages.
